📖 The Standard Manual (stnd.build) – Editorial State

This document serves as the Project Board and context for writing and maintaining the @stnd Framework Manual.

🎭 The Tone (The Voice)

Target: Industrial Graphic Standards Manual (NASA / EPA Graphic Standards 1970s)

• Tone: Dictatorial, surgical, absolute, cold.
• Writing Rules: 
  • Never suggest. Always dictate.
  • No emotion, no jokes, no emojis.
  • Use architectural vocabulary (invariants, operational boundaries, integrity, zero tolerance).
  • Avoid organic metaphors (no “garden”, no “seeds”). We speak of “structures”, “nodes”, “grids”.

🏗️ Target Structure (Reorganization in Progress)

1. 1-identity/: The Manifesto, Lexicon, Engineering Philosophy (Showcase).
2. 2-system/: (Formerly 4-system). Architecture, Vertical Slices, Edge, Kysely/D1.
3. 3-archives/: (Formerly 2-archives). Standard Markdown, Obsidian.
4. 4-graphics/: (Formerly 3-graphics). Typography, OKLCH System.
5. 5-reference/: Error index, API.

✅ Editorial & Structural Tasks

• [x] Move: Rename folders 4-system to 2-system, 2-archives to 3-archives, etc.
• [x] Create: 2.X-edge-database-and-auth.md (Document Kysely, D1, Better-Auth from Phase 4).
• [x] Create: Deployment chapter (Wrangler, Cloudflare Pages).
• [x] Create: Official documentation for @stnd/cli.
• [x] Rewrite: Purge the friendly tone from 4.8-cheat-sheet.md.
• [x] Complete: Remove “Open Questions” from 2.2-archives-standard.md (dictate final rules).
• [x] Complete: Remove old Pigment TODO in 3.1-color-system.md and freeze OKLCH.
